A Preliminary Study on Webcam-based Navigation of Transcranial magnetic stimulation
نویسندگان
چکیده
In this preliminary study, we utilized the Webcam with bigger field of view (FOV) in order to overcome existing limitations of conventional navigation stereo cameras with small FOV thereby improving marker detection capacity. In results, we demonstrated that FOVs of conventional camera and the Webcam were 885 mm and 1,685 mm, respectively which indicates better FOV of the Webcam. Consequently, the stereo camera using the Webcam provided sufficient FOV and expanded the effective range of marker detection thereby enabling discrimination of patient heads and transducers as well as tracking in any direction.

A Study on The Factors for Improving Performance of The Stereo Camera for The TMS Navigation System
Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) applying magnetic stimulation directly on neurons of the brain noninvasively is being used to treat stroke, Parkinson’s disease, depression, and so on. TMS can provide treatment through more effective stimulation when accurate stimulation is applied to an anatomical position of the patient. So a navigation system for obtaining accurate information about l...

Introduction & Objective: Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) is an electro physiologic brain stimulation and integration technique that can change the cortical excitability of the target area in the brain and modulate the nervous and muscular ductility. Addiction is associated with dysfunction of the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC) and altered cerebral oscillations. Acco...

Introduction: Cortical Spreading Depression (CSD) is a propagating wave of neural and glial cell depolarization with important role in several clinical disorders. Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS) is a potential tool with preventive treatment effects in psychiatric and neuronal disorders. In this paper, we study the effects of rTMS on CSD by using behavioral and histological a...
